Job summary

Pivotal Health is seeking a senior backend/platform engineer to own core platform components end to end, collaborating with product, data, and infra teams. You will design scalable services in a cloud-native stack (GCP), with a focus on reliability and developer experience.

You should have 5+ years in backend or platform engineering, strong Python skills, experience with relational data models, and familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend/platform engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills preferred and cloud-native systems.
• Experience with relational databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis).
• Ability to move between authorization, messaging, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own platform components end to end with reliability ownership.
• Design extensible interfaces so teams can extend platform.
• Shape scalable, reliable system interactions and data flows.
• Improve monitoring, dashboards and testing pipelines.
• Reduce toil with better abstractions and tooling.
• Collaborate with product teams to align platform decisions.
