Job summary

U.S. Xpress, Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to enhance our hybrid infrastructure and platform capabilities. You will work with the Unified Platform team to improve developer experience, speed to market, and scalable deployments on Kubernetes (EKS) using IaC and GitOps workflows.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of platform engineering, strong AWS/EKS and Terraform expertise, and are proficient with Bash/PowerShell and monitoring tools. Remote options are available nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of relevant platform engineering experience.
• Experience with AWS EKS, Terraform, and GitOps workflows.

Responsibilities

• Create custom GitHub Actions for building applications.
• Develop scripts/modules to deploy applications to the platform.
• Develop a framework to backup/restore from containers and platforms.
• Gain knowledge about Kubernetes and develop controllers for auto remediation.
• Work on IaC using Terraform to enable reporting and monitoring.
• Mentor junior developers in design and implementation.
• Harden security of accounts while enabling deployment ease.
• Collaborate across the organization to leverage collective intelligence.
