Job summary

ACT Education is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure cloud-native delivery platforms on AWS with EKS and Kubernetes. You will own platform standards, automate pipelines, and mentor teams across Scrum, security, and infra.

The role requires 5+ years in DevOps, IaC, and cloud automation, with AI-assisted tools experience. Remote US-based position with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of IT experience including DevOps platform engineering, cloud automation or infra delivery.
• Experience with CICD automation tools, IaC and version control; Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, AWS and Git preferred.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, cloud native deployment patterns and GitOps; AWS EKS and ArgoCD preferred.
• Experience using AI assisted tools such as Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot for automation, infra code, docs, testing or troubleshooting.
• Experience in managed services, project delivery, change management or complex enterprise tech environments.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CICD, GitOps, cloud-native delivery, observability and DevSecOps practices.
• Linux admin, scripting in Python/Go/Bash/PowerShell or similar.
• Ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Process and Solution Design Leadership: design and maintain secure cloud-native delivery platforms using AWS, EKS, Kubernetes, IaC, CICD and GitOps.
• Own and improve platform standards, patterns, secure pipelines and guardrails.
• Develop reusable automation patterns, scripts and platform capabilities for reliability and scalability.
• Lead problem solving, troubleshooting, code reviews and engineering standards for complex issues.
• Support cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations and change requests with governed components.
• Stay aware of cloud, DevOps, AI tooling and platform trends to stay current.
• Business Partnering: align platform work with Scrum teams, security, infra and leadership on priorities and costs.
• Identify currency needs, inefficient cloud usage, right-sizing opportunities and cost-conscious design.
• Keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, decisions, timelines and cost improvements.
• Analysis & Requirements Gathering: identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for standardization, automation and resiliency.
