Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and support internal platforms with self-service capabilities for development teams. You will lead AI-powered enhancements, integrate GenAI, and streamline workflows across teams to boost platform reliability.

You will collaborate with development, operations, and security to ensure high availability and performance, while using DORA metrics to drive improvements in software delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in platform engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep) and GitOps (Flux/ArgoCD).
• Familiarity with Crossplane, Pulumi, and AWS Controllers for Kubernetes.
• Experience with internal developer platforms (Backstage, Humanitec, OpsLevel).
• Knowledge of high availability, multi-data center, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Shell, or Python; strong English communication.
• Nice to have familiarity with native AI cloud services (Bedrock/Vertex AI/Azure AI) and AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Build and support internal platforms enabling self-service deployment and management.
• Create standardized tools, frameworks, and libraries to simplify workflows.
• Lead AI technologies adoption on the platform (GenAI, AI agents, AIOps).
• Connect development tools within the platform ecosystem.
• Improve developer experience via documentation, training, and support.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of platforms.
• Use DORA metrics to improve software delivery and operations.
• Track emerging tech to advance platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve platform-related issues.
