Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Senior AI Agentic Developer to lead next-generation AI-powered development initiatives for retail. You will design, deploy, and maintain GenAI solutions, collaborating with product teams and AI assistants to ensure architectural alignment and cost efficiency.

You will own deployments across Python backends and React frontends, implement advanced orchestration patterns, and mentor teammates while optimizing observability and performance for scalable AI platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development with generative AI and agentic development.
• Experience with AI coding assistants like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Vertex AI and GenAI cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of LLM observability and tracing with Langfuse or LangSmith.
• Skills in prompt-engineering, chain-of-thought prompting, few-shot learning, and structured outputs.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
• Frontend: React, TypeScript, Zustand, MUI.
• Backend: Python, FastAPI, asynchronous programming, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy.
• Databases: MySQL and PostgreSQL, with migrations (Alembic).
• Security: OAuth 2.0, Okta, JWT, RBAC.
• CI/CD using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• GCP tools: Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AI-powered apps using Python/FastAPI backends and React/TypeScript frontends.
• Own GenAI systems end-to-end: architecture decisions, features, ops readiness, production support, cost optimization.
• Collaborate with AI coding assistants like Claude Code and Copilot to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
• Develop technical design specs with solution engineers, architects, and product teams.
• Implement LLM orchestration patterns, including prompt engineering and RAG.
• Build observability pipelines for AI platforms: trace analysis, token usage, cost metrics.
• Mentor team members in agentic development and AI-tool integration.
• Perform cross-platform analysis and optimization across backend, frontend, and AI services.
