Job summary

Trase Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to design and own core parts of Trase OS, the platform powering deployments in regulated environments.

You will focus on reliability, scalability, and correctness within distributed systems and platform primitives, guiding architecture and engineering standards across teams. The role requires hands-on engineering, deep dives into state machines, event sourcing, and safe retry semantics, with leadership responsibilities for

Qualifications

• 8+ years of distributed/platform systems experience (designing architecture across teams)
• 4+ years owning mission-critical runtimes or orchestration systems
• Strong expertise in durable execution patterns (state machines, idempotency, event sourcing)
• Experience with security & governance in production systems (RBAC, audit)
• Hands-on with observability and distributed tracing across async boundaries
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, Java, or TypeScript; cloud-native stacks (containers, CI/CD, IaC)
• Ability to work in regulated/high-assurance environments and document decisions

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own core components of the platform execution model
• Develop distributed systems with reliable behavior across retries and partial failures
• Build platform APIs/SDKs to connect workflows, agents, tools, and surfaces
• Ensure correctness via idempotency, deterministic replays, and data integrity
• Mentor engineers, drive design reviews, and establish engineering patterns across teams
