Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Employee Benefits IT DevOps team. You will help drive cloud-native platforms, automation, and delivery pipelines, partnering with engineers and architects to enable secure, scalable software delivery across environments.

The ideal candidate has hands-on AWS, IaC, CI/CD, containerization, and observability experience and thrives in an Agile setting, with a focus on continuous learning and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support CI/CD pipelines to enable automated and reliable software delivery.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, environment configuration, and operational processes.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions using Dynatrace, Splunk, CloudWatch.
• Support containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment automation, release processes, and operational readiness.
• Mentor and coach engineers on DevOps practices and cloud technologies.
• Explore and leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity and quality.
