Job summary

Ping Identity is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the PingOne Platform Administration team. You will design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs, contributing to AI-adjacent platform tooling such as MCP server capabilities and developer tools.

You will mentor peers and help drive reliable, scalable production systems in a fast-paced Agile environment. You will collaborate with product management, QA, UX, and other engineering teams, shaping technical direction

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of professional software engineering experience on Agile teams.
• Strong backend software development experience building production-grade services.
• 3+ years of Java service development.
• Experience developing NodeJS services.
• Experience with TypeScript is highly desired.
• Experience in Identity Management is highly desired.
• Experience developing tools for AI models is highly desired.
• Experience developing MCP servers is highly desired.
• Experience developing SaaS applications.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development, CI/CD, automated testing, and production support.
• Ability to collaborate with product management, QA, UX, and engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Report to the PingOne Admin Experience engineering director.
• Serve as a senior individual contributor on the PingOne Platform Administration team.
• Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle, from requirements definition and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design and develop backend services and APIs that support the PingOne Platform Administration capabilities.
• Contribute to the development of AI-related platform tooling, including MCP server capabilities, developer tools, and supporting workflows.
• Partner closely with product managers, QA, UX, and peer engineering teams across PingOne to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Help shape technical direction, engineering standards, and system design decisions within the team.
• Mentor other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and day-to-day collaboration.
• Support operational excellence by improving observability, reliability, maintainability, and deployment safety of team-owned services.
