Job summary

Aristocrat is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape the architecture of its next‑generation gaming platform in the United States. You will steer high‑level design across teams, drive reliability, and influence engineering direction with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.

You’ll mentor senior engineers, elevate development practices, and define standards across multiple products, embracing AI tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring responsible usage and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of commercial software engineering experience with large-scale libraries or platforms.
• Technical expert in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Ability to design and architect initiatives independently.
• Deep expertise in multi-threading, eventing, IPC, and performance tuning.
• Strong OO design knowledge and architectural pattern fluency.
• Proven experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Solid understanding of secure system design, networking, and encryption.
• Experience with CI and automated testing practices; AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex, high-performance platform features.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and ensure architectural alignment.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews and mentoring to raise quality.
• Work across graphics, networking, security, hardware integration, drivers, tools, and SDKs.
• Evaluate new technologies, tools, and process improvements for scalability and reliability.
• Identify and mitigate technical risk across initiatives.
• Analyze and debug issues; contribute to ADRs and architecture docs.
• Champion AI-assisted development and establish guardrails for safe use.
