Job summary

TetraScience is seeking a senior IC to own the platform architecture across Enterprise Platform, Scientific Search, AI/ML Ops, Developer Platform and Cloud Infrastructure. You will set technical direction, close architectural gaps, and drive scalable enterprise-grade data and AI capabilities.

The scope is broad and expects deep expertise in one architectural profile with breadth across others, including secure multi-tenant RBAC, data lake design, and observability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 at staff or principal level in a SaaS platform or data infrastructure context.
• Deep architecture ownership in at least one of two fingerprint profiles, with meaningful range across the eight domains.
• Demonstrated ownership of enterprise authentication and authorization systems at scale: SAML, OIDC, fine-grained RBAC across a multi-tenant SaaS product.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML serving infrastructure under production load.
• Search architecture experience: designed and operated a search platform for keyword, semantic, or hybrid queries.
• Hands‑on experience with data lake architectures at scale: Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg, schema evolution and partition pruning.
• Infra fluency on AWS with Kubernetes or ECS; able to interpret cost anomaly reports and act quickly.
• Ability to write and defend architecture decisions: RFCs, trade‑off documents, design reviews.
• Strong cross‑team communication; capable of aligning stakeholders through written docs.
• Comfort operating across strategy, architecture, and operations in the same week.

Responsibilities

• Own Enterprise Platform tenancy, IAM, compliance, and admin control plane used by enterprise customers.
• Lead Scientific Search architecture across keyword, semantic, and hybrid retrieval.
• Oversee AI/ML Ops including model serving, telemetry, and production readiness.
• Drive Developer Platform with CI/CD standards, SDK design, and adoption metrics.
• Improve Developer Productivity through tooling parity and environment consistency.
• Shape Lakehouse Platform architecture and data access for AI workloads.
• Lead Partner Integrations architecture and secure self-service onboarding.
• Guide Cloud Infrastructure with cost governance and observability practices.
