Job summary

TetraScience, a leader in Scientific Data and AI, seeks an experienced data engineering leader to mentor a team of SDEs and deliver scalable data solutions. You will drive data models, pipelines, and productizable components for pre-clinical and lab data, collaborating with product managers and scientists.

You will implement data parsing, build dashboards, and ensure high-quality releases with unit and integration tests, while promoting process improvements and agile delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of building data engineering solutions.
• 10+ years working in Python and SQL with a focus on data.
• Experience managing engineering teams with five or more direct reports.
• Experience leading projects, managing requirements, and handling timelines.
• Experience managing multiple customer-focused implementation projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes.
• Experience with data plotting/dashboarding tools like React and/or Streamlit is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with pre-clinical data and lab scientists is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the confidence to take control of project delivery.
• Quickly understand a highly technical product and effectively communicate with product management and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of SDEs. Supervise their career growth and performance.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and build a solution based on consensus.
• Take ownership of building data models, prototypes, and solutions that drive customer success.
• Use modern tools to build comprehensive data schemas and parsers for pre-clinical data.
• Extract reusable components and package them into Python libraries.
• Build data pipelines with unit and integration tests to ensure high fidelity data.
• Develop data applications and dashboards using React, Streamlit, Jupyter notebooks.
• Drive value for customers by ensuring the solution meets requirements and is yield-focused.
• Promote team-wide process and technology improvements for quality and developer experience.
• Rally the team to meet Agile sprint commitments and resolve blockers.
