Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a senior architect to lead platform architecture decisions and the long-term technical direction for connected automotive software. The role partners with product and engineering leadership to deliver API-first, scalable solutions across CRM, desking, valuations, inventory, and more.

The successful candidate will drive architecture across multiple teams, set non-functional requirements, and champion shared capabilities while ensuring alignment with business goals and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years' related experience (or alternate combinations).
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and AWS.
• 8+ years delivering production-grade, mission-critical applications.
• Experience building API-first software with serverless, containers, and distributed architectures.
• Strong knowledge of OIDC, SAML, SCIM, SQL/NoSQL.
• Proven ability to lead architecture across multiple workloads and teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the platform architectural direction, long-term vision, and guiding principles.
• Plan, define, and design solutions across multiple Release Trains; define integration strategies.
• Guide engineers and architects in clarifying requirements and allocating subsystem responsibilities.
• Identify architectural runway needs and partner with product/engineering to prioritize delivery.
• Frame architectural options in business terms and assess economic impact.
• Champion sound architectural solutions and promote reuse of shared capabilities.
• Establish non-functional requirements at the platform level.
• Collaborate across Cox Automotive to promote architectural excellence.
