Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Senior Architect to lead platform architecture for digital automotive solutions. You will collaborate with product and engineering leaders to design scalable, API-first, cloud-native systems across CRM, desking, valuation, inventory, and delivery domains.

You will guide engineers and architects, balance business and technical considerations, and drive strategic decisions that enable faster value delivery and better economics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and AWS.
• 8 years of full development life cycle and significant production environment experience.
• Experience building API-first software with serverless, containers, and distributed architectures.
• Strong knowledge of OIDC, SAML, SCIM, SQL, NoSQL, Node.js, Python, Java, React, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building, integrating, and testing complex software products across multiple workloads.

Responsibilities

• Set the platform architectural direction, long-term vision, and guiding principles.
• Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of solutions across multiple Release Trains.
• Provide guidance to engineers and technical architects on requirements, interfaces, and delivery automation.
• Identify required architectural runway in support of upcoming business features and capabilities.
• Frame technical and architectural alternatives in business terms and assess economic impact.
• Champion sound architectural solutions and advocate for them across the organization.
• Establish critical non-functional requirements at the platform level.
• Partner with Cox Automotive to promote reuse of shared capabilities.
