Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a senior Platform Architect to lead architectural direction for omni-channel experiences and B2B APIs in Burlington, VT. The role focuses on solving complex workloads across CRM, desking, valuation, pricing, and inventory systems, aligning engineering and product teams to a common technology strategy.

The candidate balances solutioning with hands-on discovery, guiding implementation teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver value and efficient architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 10+ years in a related field; alternatives include Master’s with 8+ years, PhD with 5+ years, or 14+ years experience.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and delivering software/services on AWS.
• 8+ years of full development life cycle delivering mission-critical applications/services in production.
• Experience building software with API-first approach using serverless, containers, and distributed architectures.
• Strong knowledge of OIDC, SAML, SCIM, SQL, NoSQL, Node.js, Python, Java, React, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building, integrating, and testing complex software products composed by multiple workloads/teams.
• 4 years of experience as a solution or technical architect.

Responsibilities

• Set the platform architectural direction, long-term vision, and guiding principles.
• Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design; coordinate across Release Trains for integration.
• Guide engineers and technical architects in clarifying requirements, interfaces, and delivery automation.
• Identify architectural runway and prioritize features with product/engineering teams.
• Frame options in business terms and assess economic impact of designs.
• Champion sound architectural solutions across the organization.
• Establish critical non-functional requirements at the platform level.
• Promote shared capabilities across Cox Automotive.
