Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead IPaC website architecture updates and API integration for a federal data migration program. You will design and implement the integration between the federal consultation platform and the cloud data infrastructure, enabling new species data to flow into existing workflows.

Work location is remote in the United States, with responsibilities including development of display features, joint agency handling logic, and support for government

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field; multiple pathways listed in the posting.
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive experience with software development focusing on federal application integration.
• Experience designing and implementing REST API integrations between federal apps and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Java or Python and backend development.
• Experience with Git for federal code management and deployment.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP-compliant deployment and federal software standards.
• Familiarity with accessibility requirements (Section 508/WCAG 2.0) for federal development.

Responsibilities

• Lead IPaC website app architecture updates to support new data integration.
• Design and implement API integrations between the app and cloud data platforms.
• Add new species display features: habitat designations, listing status, regulatory requirements.
• Develop joint agency consultation handling logic for referrals and workflows.
• Support demo environments for government demonstrations and testing.
• Resolve defects during interoperability testing and enhance application-layer integration.
