Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an Integration Analyst/Engineer to support the VIPPS system for the VA Office of Information and Technology. You will work on design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise integrations and data migration, collaborating with API developers and SMEs.

The role blends analysis and hands-on engineering, covering data profiling, mapping, transformation, and validation, with emphasis on security and compliance in a remote US-based position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years with systems integration, data migration or API development.
• Strong data and systems analysis skills.
• Ability to map source-to-target data and define transformation rules.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON/XML, and enterprise integration concepts.
• Experience with SQL, data mapping, OpenAPI/Swagger, and interface specifications.
• Ability to assist with integration engineering and troubleshooting.
• Experience with federal/VA enterprise or legacy-to-modern migrations.
• Experience integrating SaaS and external systems.
• Knowledge of iFAMS and ECMS.

Responsibilities

• Support the full lifecycle of VIPPS integration from design to sustainment.
• Collaborate with Data Integration Lead and API teams to build enterprise-grade interfaces.
• Conduct data migration activities including profiling, mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, and testing.
• Analyze source and target systems to define data mappings and rules.
• Assist in API development using REST, JSON/XML, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Support API and integration testing with automated test capabilities.
• Troubleshoot data exchanges and interface issues with engineering teams.
• Document integration processes, mappings, and test results.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of integration tools and methods.
• Ensure activities align with security and governance requirements.
