Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 2+ years in mechanical engineering, preferably in plastic manufacturing or related industry.
• Experience in new product development within consumer goods, focus on plastics/purse products preferred.
• Strong Six Sigma and statistical analysis skills.
• Excellent project management, prioritization, and scheduling abilities.
• Proficient in CAD and solid modeling software.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• IP management experience including patent filing/searches.
• Ability to travel to manufacturing sites (10–40% travel; international travel possible).
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new consumer products from concept to commercialization.
• Coordinate brainstorming sessions to generate innovative product ideas.
• Analyze consumer, market, and industry trends for opportunities.
• Attend trade shows and industry events to stay informed on trends and technologies.
• Evaluate new mechanical technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
• Assess and improve existing designs for plastics manufacturing systems.
• Lead or collaborate on prototypes and perform ROI analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement in process automation and waste reduction.
• Actively file for IP protection of innovative ideas.
• Conduct patent searches and monitor competitive landscape.
• Apply Six Sigma tools to drive process improvements.
• Use data-driven approaches to address root causes of issues.
• Collaborate with design, production, and QA to align with goals.
• Manage multiple projects from ideation to launch; report status to stakeholders.
• Travel to manufacturing sites (10–40%), to oversee trials and improvements.
• Perform other duties as needed.
