Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Kansas City, MO is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to support plasma center operations. You will greet donors, perform venipuncture, monitor donors, and manage the plasmapheresis process with attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, monitoring vital signs, recording data in the DIS system, and assisting with process improvements. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire shift.
• Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs, and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination and depth perception.
• Glove wear for exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• 1+ years in a customer/patient-facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machines.
• Monitor donors and manage donor reactions during donation.
• Set up, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies and assist with disposal.
• Record donor vital signs and monitor the DIS system.
• Perform finger sticks and record hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
• Enter donor information into the DIS.
• Coordinate donor movement and compensation using the Debit Card system.
• Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen).
