Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking a skilled maintenance electrician for the hospital division. You will ensure efficient operation, repair and maintenance of equipment and utilities, and monitor fire and safety systems to provide a safe environment.

You will perform daily rounds, diagnose and repair electrical and HVAC systems, operate building management systems, and respond to emergencies to maintain continuous service to patient areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three years of electrical maintenance experience, with at least two years of electrical courses and one year of basic electronics.
• Minimum of four years experience in plant operations maintenance (electric, steam, water, HVAC, and medical gases).
• Refrigeration license preferred.
• NYC G17 Bulk Medical Gas Certificate required.
• Maintains required certificate of fitness as required by FDNY and AHJ.
• Experience with building management system computers with direct digital controls (DDC) for HVAC.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints; strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors building management systems for power, heat, water, air conditioning, and fire systems.
• Conducts daily rounds in all buildings to ensure proper operation; perform repairs and adjustments.
• Performs electrician duties for patient areas and makes emergency/operational decisions.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and operates all utility systems, performing emergency repairs as needed.
• Performs related duties as required.
