New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a Plant Utilities Assistant to help operate, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment for heat, hot water, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical systems.

Qualified candidates will have HVAC-related education or military equivalents and 1 year of hands-on experience in maintaining or repairing HVAC systems or boilers. Background checks will be conducted and a comprehensive NYS benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of HVAC/apprenticeship programs or military equivalents.
• Licenses/certifications as required for stationary engineers or HVAC trades.
• Experience with diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems and boilers.

Responsabilités

• Assist in operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment providing heat, hot water, ventilation, AC, and electrical distribution.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of building systems and respond to routine equipment issues.
• Support preventive maintenance and documentation for building analytics and energy platforms.

Formation

Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Marine Engineering

Associate’s degree in HVAC

HVAC certificate or diploma (BOCES or equivalent)

1 year HVAC systems/boilers diagnostics & repair experience

1 year residential HVAC maintenance experience
