Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to sustain hospital electrical systems, respond to maintenance calls, and perform preventive maintenance on complex equipment across clinical and support areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalency, trade school in electricity, and at least five years of installing and maintaining electrical systems. Knowledge of NYC Electrical Code and strong safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Trade school graduate in electricity or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years electrical experience, both installing and maintaining.
• Knowledge of NYC Electrical Code.
• Ability to read plans and trace circuits from prints and interpret blueprints.
• Certificate of Fitness – S-95 / OSHA10 – preferred.
• NFP 70E training – preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair hospital electrical systems including public address, Muzak, electrical beds, autoclaves, lighting, and ballasts.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical/mechanical equipment and operate power tools and testing instruments.
• Inspect and test circuits, diagnose defects, and replace faulty components such as gears, bearings, and transformers.
• Read prints/diagrams and trace circuits; work with multiple trades as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.
