Job summary

Helen Hayes Hospital is seeking a Plant Utilities Engineer 1 to operate and maintain critical plant systems on the night shift. You will oversee heat, hot water, ventilation, air conditioning and electrical distribution, ensuring safe, efficient performance across the facility.

You may supervise staff and contractors, identify energy conservation opportunities, and recommend major overhauls or replacements of equipment to sustain uninterrupted patient care and comfort.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in industrial utilities within a Power Plant setting.
• Experience with utility systems including boilers (gas & oil), cooling towers, compressed air, generators, switchgear and BMS.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test and calibrate mechanical and electrical equipment for heat, hot water, ventilation, air conditioning and electrical distribution.

As a Plant Utilities Engineer 1 on an assigned shift, you would operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate mechanical and electrical equipment providing heat, hot water ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical distribution in a safe and efficient manner. You would make recommendations on major overhauls and replacement of equipment and identify, recommend, and develop energy conservation projects. You may supervise subordinate staff in the operation and maintenance of heating facilities and mechanical equipment. You may also supervise contractors in an emergency or project situation and you may be required to assume responsibility for operations of the overall plant.

Night Shift: From 11pm to 7am

Requirements

3-7years of experience in industrial utilities in a Power Plant setting. Experience with Utility Systems-Commercial boilers gas and oil, cooling towers,compressed air systems, commercial Generators, Electrical Switchgear, andBuilding Management systems.
