Job summary

Grace is hiring an Operations Manager for the Curtis Bay/Baltimore, MD manufacturing site to ensure safe and efficient 24/7 operations. You will report to the Site Operations Director and lead a team of 20-25, including operations leaders, supervisors, and maintenance planners.

The role combines technical and leadership expertise, with responsibilities spanning safety, production, planning, and capital programs to drive improvements across the plant.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
• 12+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in specialty chemicals.
• 5+ years of leadership with direct supervisory responsibilities in a union environment.
• Life safety training and ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
• Ability to identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing employees and a technical team to safely operate the plant in a 24/7 environment and meet production, quality, safety, health, environmental, and cost goals.
• Develop action plans to mitigate safety or production risks.
• Ensure resources to cover plant shutdowns and support for off-shifts; oversee investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Support production troubleshooting with technical and leadership skills; escalate issues as needed.
• Manage engagement, performance and development of direct and indirect reports; hire, onboard, train and coach.
• Participate in asset management inputs such as capacity, shutdown schedules and plant trials.
• Monitor compliance with production yields and fixed costs; report variances.
• Support site and business leadership in developing strategies and operating plans; champion capital programs.
