Job summary

Grace in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Operations Manager for our Curtis Bay manufacturing site. You will lead a 20–25 person team, drive safe, efficient 24/7 operations, and report to the Site Operations Director.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred), 12+ years in manufacturing, and 5+ years of leadership in a union environment. SAP/ERP experience and Six Sigma are a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical preferred.
• 12+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in specialty chemicals.
• 5+ years of leadership with direct supervisory responsibilities in a union environment.
• Life safety training and ability to identify workplace hazards.
• Ability to operate in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing employees and a technical team to meet production, quality, safety, health, environmental, and cost goals in a 24/7 operation.
• Develop action plans to mitigate safety or production risks in challenging scenarios.
• Oversee shutdowns, Job Hazard Analyses, and investigations for losses or incidents, with proper corrective actions.
• Escalate issues to the Site Operations Director with technical and leadership input.
• Manage and develop direct and indirect reports in accordance with Grace policies.
• Contribute to asset management inputs such as capacity, shutdowns, and plant trials.
• Review compliance around production, yields, and fixed costs; report variances.
• Support site and business leaders in developing strategies and operating plans.
