Job summary

WM in Detroit seeks a Senior Plant Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair equipment such as conveyors, balers, motors, and building systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect inventory, and support production schedules.

The role offers an hourly pay range of $27–$38 based on experience, with uniforms and PPE provided, extensive training, comprehensive healthcare, and a stock purchase plan. Expect 5am–4pm rotating days.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience
• Be over 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with/without accommodations
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical required

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose/repair major equipment and components
• Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections backlog
• Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform supervisor if work cannot be completed within standard times
• Inspect the quality of third-party repairs and rebuilds
• Recommend improvements to production and equipment performance
• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards
• Perform repairs with limited supervision and safety compliance
