Job summary

Waste Management is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to ensure the plant runs safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance on balers, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and other equipment, troubleshoot issues, and work with cutting‑edge machinery while reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager.

This role emphasizes reliability, safety compliance, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic production environment with potential night and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM) and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components.
• Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog.
• Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed.
• Inspect the quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds.
• Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Multitask and manage multiple priorities with efficiency.
• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
• Perform work with limited supervision while maintaining high standards of performance.
• Be flexible with your work schedule, including nights and weekends.
