Job summary

WM is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician in the United States to keep our recycling plant running safely and efficiently. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair equipment such as balers, conveyors, motors, and bearings. Shifts rotate (4pm–4am, 2 on/2 off/3 on).

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM) and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components such as balers, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
• Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog.
• Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform management if additional work is needed.
• Inspect the quality of third-party repairs and rebuilds.
• Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
• Perform repairs with limited supervision while maintaining high standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA.
