Job summary

Avery Dennison is seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Manager to lead controls engineering, project engineering, and maintenance at our Concord and Painesville facilities in Ohio. You will drive safety, reliability, and efficiency while aligning engineering initiatives with business goals.

You will mentor diverse teams, manage capital projects, and partner across functions to reduce downtime and improve asset performance. A Lean/Six Sigma background is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Controls, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering preferred; other engineering degrees will be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in project engineering, plant maintenance, or an engineering leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including automation control, PLCs, drives, sensors, and facilities systems.
• Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (Green or Black Belt preferred) and experience with TPM program implementation or management.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by actively contributing through training, project management, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities.
• Lead, develop, and mentor controls engineering, project engineering, and maintenance teams to drive process improvements, asset reliability, and continuous improvement guided by site priorities.
• Act as a core member of the plant leadership team and collaborate cross-functionally across site and divisional functions to align engineering and maintenance goals with broader business objectives.
• Lead project delivery, cost center financial management, and capital project execution to achieve target results in safety, quality, operating costs, and customer fulfillment.
• Partner with maintenance to oversee work order systems, spare parts inventory, contractor management, and direct hands-on support to minimize unplanned downtime and optimize asset performance.
