Plant Tech Operator role focuses on safe, compliant operation of all power generation equipment and leadership of on-watch teams. Ideal candidates have extensive power plant experience, a strong background in safety procedures, and the ability to mentor staff while coordinating maintenance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as Control Room Operator or Plant Tech in power plants.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Read and follow Environmental, Health & Safety docs.
• Read drawings and technical manuals.
• Pass respiratory evaluation and fit test.
• Strong communication and Office software skills.
• Teamwork and committee participation.
• Oregon driver’s license required.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; able to write a technical paper.

Responsibilities

• Meet SPTO and PTO qualifications.
• Perform SPTO duties for at least 500 hours.
• Oversee safety programs and training.
• Lead on-watch activities and supervise technicians.
• Coordinate maintenance and plant operations to optimize output.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate plant equipment.
• Maintain water treatment and emissions compliance.
• Coordinate vendor activities and manage outages.
• Develop technical training and documentation.
