Job summary

Lumen is expanding its Senior Planning Engineer team to drive complex network migration programs across the US. This fully remote role focuses on planning, execution, risk mitigation, and customer coordination to deliver AI-ready connectivity projects.

You will develop migration roadmaps, manage dependencies, and partner with engineering, operations, and vendors. Strong communication and cross-functional leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting telecommunications, network migration, infrastructure, or transformation programs.
• Knowledge of network planning, implementation, and operations.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional projects and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in complex environments.
• Customer-facing experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of project management, reporting tools, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain migration plans, schedules, and roadmaps.
• Support route prioritization and execution activities.
• Identify dependencies, constraints, and readiness requirements.
• Coordinate activities supporting network migration delivery.
• Partner with Planning, Engineering, Construction, Implementation, Operations, vendors, and customer-facing teams.
• Facilitate issue resolution and stakeholder alignment.
• Participate in program reviews and governance activities.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks to migration schedules and customer commitments.
• Support resolution of planning, implementation, capacity, and operational issues.
• Escalate critical concerns and recommend corrective actions.
• Communicate migration plans, schedules, risks, and requirements.
• Support customer meetings, planning reviews, and issue resolution efforts.
• Support occasional overnight customer migrations.
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain migration trackers, metrics, and status reporting.
• Provide schedule forecasts, risk assessments, and program updates.
• Support executive reporting and continuous process improvement initiatives.
