Job summary

City of Portland seeks a planning professional to help developers and property owners achieve compliance with current planning regulations and development processes. You will manage applications for rezonings, subdivisions, special uses, and variances, and contribute to long-range planning projects and staff reports.

Responsibilities include coordination with Planning Commission, City Council, and Code Enforcement, as well as reviewing permits for compliance with the Unified Development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• American Institute of Certified Planners - Preferred
• Over 1 year experience

Responsibilities

• Research, review, report and present rezoning cases and zoning amendments to Planning Commission and City Council.
• Provide technical assistance to citizens, contractors, developers, department staff and management.
• Serve as liaison to the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Planning and Zoning Commission.
• Site review of development applications to evaluate site conditions and infrastructure.
• Prepare publications, notices and ordinances for development applications.
• Assist with amendment process to the City’s Comprehensive Plan.
• Receive and respond to citizen complaints regarding zoning violations.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
