Job summary

The City of Eugene Planning & Development Department seeks an engaged Land Use Analyst (Assistant/Associate Planner) to support current planning, land use applications, and development permits. The role emphasizes public information, interpreting development standards, and coordination with multiple city departments.

Qualifications

• One year of professional planning experience for Planner, Assistant.
• Three years of professional planning experience for Planner, Associate.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in urban and regional planning, architecture, landscape architecture or related field.
• Master's degree in a planning-related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and evaluates land use applications, building permits and development proposals; prepares notices; evaluates data and interprets laws, codes, and ordinances.
• Identifies and resolves critical issues affecting feasibility and success of development proposals and land use applications.
• Prepares staff and planning-related reports for City Council, Planning Commission, Hearings Official and other committees.
• Answers questions and provides information to the public; investigates complaints and recommends corrective action.
• Prepares maps, charts, and graphs for land use applications and planning projects; prepares initial studies and designs.
• Develops promotional and informational materials regarding building and permit services programs and related city ordinances.
