Job summary

Ozaukee County is seeking an experienced planning/GIS professional to guide the Department’s GIS functions and comprehensive planning efforts. You will coordinate data, mapping, and spatial analysis across divisions and support local governments with planning and zoning.

Responsibilities include grant support, public outreach content creation, and staff training on GIS tools. A bachelor’s in planning or GIS is required; a master’s or GIS certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in planning, GIS, geography, or closely related field and proven experience.
• Master’s degree or additional GIS certifications are preferred.
• Experience in planning, GIS, and environmental/resource analysis is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead GIS mapping, data management, and spatial analysis across divisions.
• Support local governments with planning and zoning guidance.
• Prepare staff reports and grant documentation.
• Assist with Department website, social media, and public outreach content.
• Coordinate data sharing with County departments and partners.
• Provide training to staff on GIS tools and analysis.
