Job summary

Perfection Staffing, on behalf of HPW, seeks a qualified reviewer to evaluate water and wastewater capacity reservation applications and prepare WCR letters for impact fee administration. The role requires analyzing plans, surveys, and plats while staying aligned with ordinances and state laws.

You will handle daily customer communications by phone, email, and in person; collaborate with multiple sections; and contribute to reports, SOPs, and special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Review water and wastewater capacity reservation (WCR) applications and generate WCR letters for impact fee administration. Assess impact fees within an excel based web client in accordance with ordinances, state laws and regulations, review legal documents, surveys, site plans and plats. Daily correspondence with customers regarding the status of their applications. Maintain collaboration with other sections, divisions and departments. Will assist in creating reports, standard operating procedures and assist in special projects as necessary. Must be proficient in Microsoft word, excel, teams, outlook, and adobe. Have superb customer service experience via phone / in-person / email. Great writing and critical thinking skills, for document analysis. Able to review surveys, floor plans, site plans, google earth, GIS / mapping systems and a problem solver. The applicant will have access to service animals and secured areas within the HPW building.

KNOWLEDGE:

Requires a related Associate's degree, such as Building Inspection, or the equivalent. May require a valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving .

EXPERIENCE

Two years of skilled, journey level experience in building trades, inspection or plan examining in the area of analysis to be performed are required . Two additional years of skilled, journey level experience in building trades, inspection or plan examining in the area of analysis to be performed may be substituted for the above degree requirement.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

The position routinely requires stooping or bending and/or routine lifting of moderately heavy items, such as plans (up to 40 pounds)

WORK ENVIRONMENT: There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions. The position may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, as with occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of a video display terminal.

PHYSICAL SKILL:

Requires the ability to make coordinated gross motor movements in response to changing external stimuli within moderately demanding tolerances; or the ability to make coordinated eye/hand movements on a patterned response space within low tolerance demands with no real speed requirements.
