Job summary

City of Houston, Houston Water/Wastewater Operations, is seeking a Project Manager (Wastewater Operations) to provide independent operational oversight and compliance auditing of the wastewater system.

The role involves frequent field inspections at treatment plants and lift stations, daily site visits five days a week, and reporting on deficiencies with corrective actions while collaborating with plant personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Project Management or closely related field.
• Four years of experience in construction, inspection, design, or related fields.
• Directly related architectural, construction or landscape design experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent operational oversight and internal compliance auditing of the City’s wastewater treatment system (38 WWTPs and 365 lift stations).
• Conduct frequent field inspections to evaluate plant operations, maintenance, records, and compliance with permits and procedures.
• Identify, document, and report non-compliance, deficiencies and permit concerns; prepare corrective action follow-ups.
