Job summary

TORKLAW in Chicago, IL seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney for an in-office, full-time role. You’ll own personal injury cases from intake through settlement, negotiate with insurers, and lead strategy with a collaborative team.

Candidates should have 5+ years of plaintiff PI experience, strong Illinois law knowledge, excellent client service, and outstanding organizational skills. Autonomy and professional growth are supported.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of plaintiff personal injury experience preferred.
• Active attorney in good standing.
• Strong understanding of Illinois personal injury law and procedures.
• Experience managing a significant personal injury caseload.
• Strong negotiation skills with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
• Excellent communication and empathetic client service.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to own cases from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of personal injury cases from intake through settlement, developing strategy and driving the case forward.
• Analyze liability, damages, and case value; review medical records and evidence.
• Draft and review demand packages and other legal documents; negotiate settlements.
• Maintain open communication with clients and coordinate with support staff to move cases forward.
