Job summary

Antares in Torrance, CA seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the design, analysis, and integration of high-temperature piping within the Power Conversion System. You will drive piping layout, stresses, ASME compliance, and integration with turbomachinery and heat exchangers.

This role collaborates with thermal, structural and systems engineers, and supports fabrication and testing. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in piping design and stress analysis for industrial or power applications,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years for Senior level; 8+ years for Staff level.
• Experience designing high-temp/high-pressure piping systems for industrial/power applications.
• Proficiency in piping stress analysis including thermal expansion and loads.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 or B31.1 codes.
• Experience developing piping layouts, P&IDs, drawings, and fabrication docs.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, layout, and mechanical integration of PCS piping systems.
• Perform piping stress and structural analyses under thermal, dynamic, and fatigue loads.
• Evaluate piping loads on connected equipment and supports.
• Develop detailed piping designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, and docs per ASME codes.
• Collaborate with thermal, mechanical, structural, and systems engineers to optimize piping configuration.
• Support procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting with suppliers/techs.
