Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Lead Piping Field Engineer for a major fabrication project in Chandler, AZ. The role leads piping field engineering activities and coordinates with construction, startup, quality, ES&H, and other disciplines to ensure work aligns with drawings, specs, and schedules.

The position requires the ability to direct design-field communication, develop staffing plans, and maintain stringent safety and quality standards on a high-velocity project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 8–10 years or 12–14 years experience.
• Experience in piping field engineering and construction activities.
• Knowledge of project controls interfaces and turnover processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping field engineers and direct construction engineering.
• Coordinate staffing, training and performance feedback.
• Maintain communication between design and field engineering.
• Coordinate with construction, subcontractors, project controls, startup and ES&H.
• Lead piping quantity takeoff, tracking and forecasting.
• Oversee piping work packages, RFIs, and turnover docs.
• Review cost, schedule data and construction records.
• Direct field material requisitions and warehousing.
• Coordinate subcontract activities and inspections.
• Ensure installation and turnover meet requirements.
• Promote safety and ES&H compliance.
• Coordinate turnover with startup and completions teams.
