Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. seeks a piping design engineer for full-time support of facility and production activities at Oak Ridge (Cat 2/3). You will produce design outputs such as drawings, data sheets, and equipment specifications for modifications.

Role requires pipe stress analysis (AutoPipe a plus) and compliance with ASME B31.3/B31.1 in a NRC/DOE regulated environment; collaborate with other disciplines and field teams.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited BS degree in relevant engineering plus 10+ years of professional experience or a MS degree plus 10+ years of professional experience.
• A Q clearance or ability to obtain one is required.
• Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications.
• Must be able to perform pipe stress analysis; AutoPIPE experience is a plus.
• Develop designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and plant organizations to produce timely design outputs.
• Interface with clients, production and support staff; perform field walk-downs in production environments.
