Job summary

Matrix Service Company in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Sr. Designer/Checker, Piping who will produce design layouts, finalize drawings, and serve as Discipline Design Lead.

The role may act as Project Design Lead for multiple disciplines, guiding internal and external designers and drafters to ensure accuracy and constructability. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline with a focus in piping design preferred, or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of degree.
• 4+ years of related piping design and layout experience; 2+ years of experience at Matrix preferred.
• Advanced 3D CAD systems knowledge (CADWorx, PDMS or AVEVA); AVEVA platform highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of piping, mechanical drafting disciplines and related codes.
• Excellent attention to detail, accurate interpretation of P&IDs and vendor drawings.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic and complex piping layouts; produces new drawings and checks drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Acts as Discipline Design Lead (DDL) and may lead Project Design Lead (PDL) for all disciplines.
• Coordinates with field survey, engineering support and other disciplines to ensure constructability.
• Manages scope, budget and schedule for projects or assignments; oversees internal/external resources.
• Reviews P&IDs, vendor drawings, and piping details; ensures safety and quality standards are met.
