Job summary

BlackRock Resources, LLC is seeking a Sr. Designer/Checker, Piping for senior level design and drafting. You will produce design layouts and finished drawings for custom projects, including field surveys, piping design, layouts, and P&ID review.

In this role you may act as Discipline Design Lead (DDL) or Project Design Lead (PDL), guiding internal and external designers/drafters and ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery amid time-sensitive deadlines; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates in piping or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of degree.
• 4+ years of piping design and layout experience.
• Advanced 3D CAD knowledge (CADWorx/PDMS/AVEVA) required; AVEVA platform highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of piping, mechanical drawing disciplines.
• General understanding of fabrication, purchasing, and field construction.
• Strong ability to review and interpret P&IDs, vendor drawings, and piping details.
• Safety in Design exposure preferred.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI codes and standards for piping design.
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Organizational skills and ability to multi-task under deadlines.
• Excellent listening, oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Produce design layouts and finished drawings for piping projects.
• Check drawings to ensure accuracy and error-free results.
• Lead internal and external designers/drafters as the Discipline/Project Design Lead as required.
• Coordinate field surveys, design sketches, and engineering support tasks.
• Support multiple tasks and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
