Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering is seeking a Sr. Designer/Checker, Piping to lead piping design efforts on complex projects. The role includes producing layouts, checking drawings, and acting as Discipline Design Lead (DDL) with potential to serve as Project Design Lead (PDL).

You will coordinate with internal and external designers, manage scope and schedules, and ensure safety, compliance with codes, and high-quality deliverables. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 4+ years piping design and layout experience.
• 2+ years with Matrix preferred.
• Experience with CADWorx/PDMS/AVEVA and piping codes.

Responsibilities

• Produce piping layouts and drawings and check for accuracy.
• Lead discipline design activities and coordinate with design teams.
• Estimate scope, man-hours, and schedule for projects.
• Ensure constructability, safety, and quality across drawings.
• Mentor junior drafters and support other disciplines as needed.
