Job summary

Tetra Tech seeks a Mid to Senior Piping Designer for our Englewood, CO, Casper, WY, or Billings, MT offices. The role focuses on design and drafting support for pipeline, pump, compressor, and terminal projects nationwide, with a team that has over 41 years in Oil & Gas.

You will develop mechanical drawings, piping plans, isometrics, and component files while mentoring junior designers. Travel and office-wide collaboration are expected as part of a dynamic, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s Degree in CAD Drafting & Design or equivalent.
• 5–15 years of 3D design/drafting experience in oil & gas.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, Plant 3D, CADWorx and/or Revit.
• Experience with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, ProjectWise and SharePoint a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide design and drafting support for pipeline, pump, and facility projects.
• Develop mechanical drawings: site plans, piping plans, isometrics, orthos, and typical details.
• Create piping component files for stress analyses and material take-offs.
• Interpret P&ID diagrams and collaborate with multi-discipline teams.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to project knowledge.
