Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid to Senior Piping Designer to support projects in Englewood, CO, Casper, WY, and Billings, MT. The role focuses on design/drafting for piping systems, station projects, and terminals, with a proven track record in the oil & gas sector.

The ideal candidate has 5–15 years in 3D design, proficiency in Autodesk Plant3D and Civil 3D, and strong communication skills. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD&D or equivalent required.
• 5–15 years in 3D design/drafting for piping projects.
• Proficient with Autodesk Plant3D, Civil 3D, CADWorx, Revit.
• Experience with MS Outlook/Word/Excel/Access.
• Exposure to BIM platforms (BIM 360, ProjectWise, SharePoint) a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; self-starter; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering/design teams.
• Perform 3D modeling and piping design using industry tools.
• Familiar with piping specs, codes, and standards.
• Conduct facility field walk downs and inspections.
• Mentor junior designers and provide guidance.
• Create mechanical drawings: site plans, piping layouts, isometrics, orthos.
• Develop piping component files for stress analyses.
• Prepare material take-off reports.
• Interpret P&ID diagrams.
