Day & Zimmermann MC Engineering is seeking a seasoned Piping Designer 3 in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on transforming project scopes into accurate piping designs and layouts using CAD and 3D tools, delivering deliverables aligned with client and engineering standards.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, oversee CAD tasks, and participate in field data collection to validate assumptions and address technical challenges on projects of varying scopes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical Associate's Degree (AA) in related engineering/design/technical field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive piping design experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver piping designs and layouts with high accuracy.
• Use CAD and 3D design tools to create models, drawings, and specs.
• Interpret vendor drawings and engineering documents for project plans.
• Conduct material take-offs to support budgeting and procurement.
• Oversee CAD personnel and coordinate with engineering and construction teams.
• Visit client sites to collect field data and validate designs.
• Contribute to design reviews and compliance processes.
• Keep knowledge current with industry standards and client criteria.
