Job summary

Day & Zimmermann Company is seeking a Piping Designer in Charleston, West Virginia. You will develop precise drawings and CAD models for piping systems, interpreting rough sketches and design notes while adhering to company standards and regulations.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, support field walkdowns, and help ensure project documentation accuracy. A start-to-finish learning path is supported by experienced engineers and designers in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; AA or technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Knowledge or certification related to piping design standards or CAD software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D CAD sketches and drawings based on specs and design briefs.
• Manage drawing files with accurate records and revisions.
• Participate in field walkdowns and site visits under guidance.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and designers to coordinate inputs.
• Review and back-check drawings to identify discrepancies and ensure documentation integrity.
• Support material specification and procurement documentation.
