Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering is seeking a Sr. Designer/Checker, Piping to lead piping design and drafting on complex projects. You will produce layouts, check drawings for accuracy, and act as the Discipline Design Lead (DDL) or Project Design Lead (PDL) as required.

The role demands 4+ years of piping design experience, strong CAD skills (CADWorx/PDMS/AVEVA), and the ability to coordinate with other disciplines, suppliers, and field teams to ensure constructible, safe designs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related piping design and layout experience
• 2+ years of experience at Matrix preferred
• Advanced 3D CAD systems knowledge (CADWorx, PDMS or AVEVA)
• Strong understanding of piping, mechanical drafting disciplines
• Knowledge of P&IDs, vendor drawings, and piping details
• Codes and standards: API, ANSI, ASME in piping design
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Overtime and travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Produce and check basic and complex piping layouts and drawings
• Lead discipline design activities as DDL/PDL
• Ensure drawings are accurate, constructible and compliant
• Coordinate with project teams and manage scope/schedule
• Assist with scope definition and man-hour estimates
