Job summary

Day & Zimmermann's D&Z MC Engineering division is seeking a Piping Designer 3 to translate project scopes into detailed piping designs using CAD and 3D tools. This role supports diverse projects, collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams, and contributes to design quality from concept through execution.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years in piping design, strong CAD proficiency, and a solid grasp of industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive piping design experience.
• Proficiency with CAD and 3D design tools and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with vendor documents, specifications, and design criteria.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver piping designs and layouts with high accuracy and adherence to project objectives.
• Utilize CAD software and 3D design tools to produce detailed models and drawings.
• Interpret vendor drawings and engineering documents to integrate design elements.
• Conduct material take-offs to quantify resources for budgeting and procurement.
• Oversee CAD personnel to maintain consistency and timely completion of tasks.
• Visit client sites to collect field data and validate design assumptions (with approval).
• Contribute to design reviews and verification processes for milestones and compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards and client design criteria to enhance quality.
