Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Richmond, VA is seeking a mechanical/piping designer with 4+ years of experience to perform complete designs and assist on larger projects. The role involves drafting using P&IDs, GA’s and equipment drawings, with on-site startup support, under general supervision.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD drafting and proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and Microstation, plus strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD drafting required.
• 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
• Knowledge of piping materials and design of piping systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects for complete designs of mechanical/piping assignments.
• Assist in design of larger and more complex mechanical/piping tasks under supervision.
• Develop piping drawings from P&IDs, GA’s and equipment drawings.
• Prepare material take-offs from piping drawings.
• Site design activities and communication with client personnel.
