Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking a seasoned Lead Designer to supervise a team of designers in delivering complete mechanical and piping deliverables for complex projects. You will guide scope, schedule, and budget while providing technical expertise and on-site startup support.

The ideal candidate has 25+ years of mechanical/piping drafting experience, strong knowledge of piping materials and supports, and proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and Microstation. SPED certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD required
• SPED certification preferred
• 25+ years of mechanical/piping drafting/design experience
• Knowledge of piping materials and supports
• Ability to estimate construction costs and schedules

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team of designers and provide technical direction
• Deliver complete mechanical and piping deliverables on time and within budget
• Provide on-site assistance during startup
• Mentor junior designers and coordinate cross-discipline work
• Review calculations for accuracy and conformance to codes and standards
• Develop piping installation specifications and GA drawings
• Prepare construction cost estimates and engineering schedules
